Very nice collection.
I would have to be super motivated to classify all my hats which still is nowhere near your vast collection. Excellent blog!

thanks for the compliment. I haven't really updated the pics of my collection in a few years. The blog has ben tremendous fun. It has allowed me to come into contact with lots of other collectors and people who know much more than me.

That Beavers hat is awesome. So, did you have to buy 7 of them or did you were you allowed to get 7 different hats?

I had to order seven of the Portland caps, Ideal Cap co had nvver made them before and that is the minimum amount for a custom order.

I have two left ( 7 1/2) if anyone wants to but at cost. email or pm me.

Agree that your Beavers cap is a beauty. I'm 7 1/2 and would be very interested in picking taking one off your hands if I wasn't being careful with my cap spending right now. For future reference, how do the ICC caps fit compared to modern 5950's? The only EFF that I've tried on was slightly tighter than the average 5950 for example.

And I must be living under a rock because I hadn't heard any buzz about The Founder. Thanks for the heads up. I too have always been amused by Kroc's comments over the PA system about his players. lol

The Beavers cap is the only Ideal Cap that I have and it fits like all of my other EFF caps do (hint, hint....wink wink).

They both fit tighter than a modern 5950. I tend to stretch any cap that I buy in my size.

"I hate a tight hat" I bet the board will know what movie that quote is from without any hints.

Ooh, that's great to know if I'm following you right. ICC makes a Bad News Bear cap that I've had my eye on but I've always been hesitant to drop $50 on a cap manufacturer I've never tried on. If only they offered EFF-style discounts occasionally.

I had also been thinking about requesting EFF to release a correct fifties Yomiuri Giants cap to go along with their beautiful road jersey from that period. ICC offers it but gets the logo wrong. Guess going to EFF wouldn't really help. lol

I believe both EFF and Ideal use California Custom Caps to make their caps now.

I just updated my minor league pillbox post after I learned about a few new caps:

Here's a great source of info for older minor league caps if members have not found it yet:

Cool post, just FYI the Charleston Charlies were also affiliates of the Pirates and Rangers during their AAA tenure. Mostly the Pirates.

March blog articles just posted..

Also, a reader offered to create a new logo for the blog and I am very happy with it.

You will notice a new image on the right hand side (if you are viewing from a laptop or P.C.) . I am working with the Ideal Cap Company to put this on a cap that I will be selling at cost (25-30 dollars free shipping). I am going to have sizes 7 1/4 to 7 5/8 available for sale, if you want a different size, please email asap.

If you are wondering, the logo is not of me...it is a friend who helps with the blog. There is a story about it which I believe you will enjoy.

new posts up

I had 15 caps made by Ideal Cap company to commemorate the 1 year anniversary of the Tip of the Cap blog which I am selling for 20 each with free shipping. I am not making any money on this...just wanted to create a logo and cap for the blog. I did not put the name of the blog on the cap on purpose, thought it would make it look like a cheap stadium giveaway.

new posts up...

Great job click! Just ordered the Santa Slam cap.

Lots of great MILB caps this year, but I could not be more disappointed with the Ironpigs Whiz Kids cap. Looking forward to the Reading Whoopie Pies and Williamsport Star Wars on 8/12.
