Found an interesting eBay listing: http://www.ebay.com/itm/VTG-New-York-Yankees-New-Era-white-hat-7-5-8-80s-90s-Diamond-Collection-Wool-/121923941780?hash=item1c633bb594:g:NRsAAOSwvgdW5izR

Looks to be late eighties/early nineties. The seller mentions something about 'All-Star game' in the 'item specifics' section. Anyone familiar with this cap? Did all the teams wear this style two-tone during an All Star one year way back?

I believe one of the more knowledgeable posters on here (Guru? Leroy? Can't remember who) has said those were a line NE pitched to MLB as a potential Spring Training cap back in the early '90s, only to have MLB say no, and NE turned around and sold them as an early fashion cap. Cool item but nothing to do with the ASG.

Anyone, feel free to correct if I'm wrong!

I don't believe any of the hats from this line had DC tagging either.

These pre-dated Spike's red Yankees hat as the first real retail "Customs" after they failed to be adopted as ST hats.

Thanks for all the info, guys. I like the look of the cap besides the eyelets. Not being 100% wool is another strike against it.
