Did you cover the entire hat with hot water? How long did you put it in the dryer? Always looking for new shaping techniques.

Did the hat shrink at all?

I feel like it shrank....but I wanted it to....it is acrylic so I thought the oven may melt it....I let it bounce around in the dryer about 10 min a time.....the crown was like cement so I figured it would beat it up as well.....I only wet the inside not the bill

I just looked it up... Acrylic has a higher melting point than polyester. Still, don't blame you for not wanting to put it in the oven. Even when I put my poly hats in the oven, it is only for 3-5 minutes. Otherwise, it would begin to melt.

Is the crown noticeably softer now?

Haha, nice. I have an older, Chinese made cap that I don't wear. Maybe I'll give your method a try.

I may try one more time and see if I can shrink it a drop more
