The Ottawa Senators were up to the challenge of facing the NHL's winningest team in a potential Stanley Cup finals preview, even if only standings points and bragging rights were at stake.
Who else to win the game for the Sens then Alfredsson |

Boston Bruins centre Marc Savard has been chosen to the NHL's Eastern Conference All-Star team in place of injured Ottawa forward Dany Heatley. Heatley suffered a separated shoulder in Saturday's 3-2 victory over Detroit and will be out of action for 4-6 weeks. |

Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby will be out for an indefinite period of time with a high right ankle sprain suffered in the team's 3-0 loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning Friday night. Crosby, who will be re-evaluated by team doctors on Saturday, will not join the team for their matchup in Montreal against the Canadiens and will also likely miss the 2008 NHL All-Star Game in Atlanta next week |

Building on the success of this season’s debut in London, the NHL will open the 2008-09 season with a pair of games in Europe. On Oct. 4-5, 2008, the New York Rangers and Tampa Bay Lightning will play a pair of games at Sazka Arena in Prague, Czech Republic, while the Pittsburgh Penguins and Ottawa Senators will play two games on the same days at Globe Arena in Stockholm, Sweden. |
