Has anyone had any success lowering the crown on a Diamond Era hat? I'm thinking about getting an Orioles DE hat, but the crown on the hat is pretty big (I know all DE hats are made in China, hence the issue). I know the caps come in low crown, but I have yet to find a place in store or online with my size in a low crown.

The DE caps are made of a bit different material, so I was not sure if traditional methods, such as heating the buckram with a hair dryer or the oven, work.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

I've had good success wearing mine in the shower. HatGuru has also promoted separating the buckram from the Crown to get a singer shell.

Thanks! Did wearing it in the shower did not ruin the brim of the hat? Did it shrink the hat at all for just work to lower the crown?

It made it softer and more managable.
