It is a matter of personal preference but I have found the following:

Material - the Chinese hats seem to be made out of thinner and an almost felt like material. It has a different feel and some people have found that it picks up lint moreso than the USA version.

Fit - the on fields made in China seem to fit larger than the same size in a USA made, as well the hats seem to fit deeper.

Crown - the Chinese hats seem to have a more bulbous crown, an almost Elmer Fudd like quality to it. If you wear your hat the standard way then the hat has a higher profile on your head.

Bill - the way the bill and crown are attached seems to be a little blocky and seems to stick into your forehead more and as such makes the hat less comfortable to wear.

Logos - the logos on the Chinese hats seem to be chunkier and less detailed.

Colours - there in some instances seem to be colour variations between the USA and Chinese hats.

For me a USA made hat and Chinese one are like two different hats with the Chinese one being inferior in every aspect of what I want from a NE.

The wool Chinese hats don't seem to share a lot of the same issues although I have found them to fit a little deeper than American ones.

Hat Guru pretty much nailed it.

Also worth noting that I find the polyester used in the Chinese made hats attracts dust and dirt. I have American made caps that I've never cleaned but I have to wipe off my Chinese caps after every time I wear them.

hello
i bought in france an authentics cincinati reds made in usa and a yankees made in china 100% polyester.
yes the polyester is more strong for the made in usa one.
But i prefer the "made in china" bulbous crown. its nice.
i like the" elmert " look.... i like boxy crown...
so for me. i prefer authentics made in china.

Hi there!,

I live not so far from the states, in Aruba and ive been buying exclusively chinese made hats cause they dont sel the U.S. made ones here.
The reason is that the stores here can only buy em from Panama, and not directly from the U.S. without buying them retail, i would guess cause they come from china to the panama canal and leave em there for distribution and obviously the prices are lower to sell to stores from there then from the U.S..
So far my china made caps are from good quality, reason for that i guess is that New Era exports the majority of the good ones made in china and keep the less good ones for local U.S. sales.(only a hypothesis).
And latley i found these horible ones made in Vietnam, thats a good topic we should adress later on!
Ill put on some pics for u guys to judge later on.

Tnx,

Urwin

wow now I feel like I got ripped off. Bought two on fields from the flagship store and they were both china. I thought all fitteds had this obnoxious high profile box look so I ditched them for snapbacks.
