The new era is a cap company that specializes in the production of sports-licensed headwear company in the United States. The new era cap company is the premier cap provider for MLB, as well as a number of NBA and NHL franchises, plus a handful of major collegiate athletic programs.
Among the most famous creation of the new era Cap Company is the 59-Fifthy. The 59-Fifthy is a structured, fitted, 100% polyester cap which is worn by Major League Baseball players and umpires during competition.
The new era company’s started out first at a store in Buffalo, NY. In May 2006, the new era company opened a wholly owned and operated Flagship Store in New York City. Even though the new era caps offers a wide range of "59-Fifty" caps, new era company’s most prominent and recognizable cap is modeled with a flat cap bill. This is the style most popular with urban consumers, who have adopted the style from its prominence in rap & hip-hop culture.
The brand recognition of new era and the "59-Fifty" has resulted in the cap becoming a popular fashion element, particularly reflected in urban & hip-hop culture. Among all the 59-Fifthy’s that the new era produces, the most common and popular cap is the New York Yankees 59FIFTY Flat bill cap.
Popularized by rap artists, athletes and other prominent cultural figures, the new era caps have become an icon of the fashion industry. Individuals select and wear the new ear caps as evidence to what sports teams they like and support, where they hail from, or because of fashion elements in the cap design.

New Era Cap - a brief history.
The New Era cap is synonymous with the professional baseball, and has been since New Era cap introduced the 59Fifty fitted cap to professional baseball in 1954. In fact, each authentic New Era cap is the exact same New Era cap worn by MLB baseball players today. Check out our entire range of Authentic New Era caps. New Era Cap - urban development. In the late 70s and early 80s Americans started wearing caps worn by their favourite team or player. A trend eventually took hold and the New Era cap eventually made its way into every part of American life. In 1994, New York film maker Spike Lee asked New Era cap to make him a fitted Yankees cap in 'unofficial' colours. At first they thought it was a strange request – who’d want a New Era cap that's not identical to the Pros? But Spike got the New Era cap he wanted, people noticed, and demand for 'non-Authentic' New Era fitted caps like his took off making Spike Lee and New Era founders of the fitted fashion cap.Today, the New Era cap is a design classic. And like with most fashion trends, music leads the way. The New Era cap is worn by stars in every genre of music, from Country to Crooner, RnB to Rock and of course, Rap and Hip-Hop. Check out our full list of celebrity New Era cap patrons and our entire range of MLB New Era caps _________________ tony2times |

Ehrhardt Koch founded New Era Cap in Buffalo, NY, in 1920 with a $5000 family-loan and 14 employees. New Era's goal was to make the best quality men's fashion headwear, and entered the market with then-voque, eight-panel Pacer-style cap known as the Gatsby. As fashion evolved, so did New Era. In the 1930's New Era began making baseball caps, the one thing that is a timeless as Americas favorite pastime. For more than 70 years New Era's relationship with Major League Baseball has grown from supplying a couple of teams with caps to becoming the exclusive maker and marketer of the league's official uniform cap; the 59FIFTY. An icon, the 59FIFTY has dominated the field of play and the world of fashion for more than 50 years. |

New Era's reputation is built upon the foundation of a true icon: the 59FIFTY fitted cap. The 59FIFTY is the leader in fit, fashion and function, and beyond the benchmark of all other caps must measure themselves, it serves as a mirror for the values, beliefs and styles of those who wear it. The 59FIFTY started the movement, set the standards and then went on to define them, and no other cap can lay claim to its throne. New Era recognizes both the heritage and the passion within those who speak of their caps in such terms.

James in todays day and age the media likes to blow thing out of proportion. I'm not sure if I believe the whole just of the story. One offices practice shouldn't tarnish the whole companies operations.
