50, 50 and 60. Took a few guess on the first two quizzes and lucked out on about half of those though. Laughing

So is it just that Killebrew was rumored to be the batterman model? Because I definitely heard his name associated with it.

you did better than most!

My source for the batterman logo question was an interview I found where Dior stated the original logo took 15 minutes to create and there was not a model. He did state that many people believe that Killebrew was the model, but not true.

That is dead on, Uni-Watch had a great piece on it and debunked that myth.

I think the myth got started because around the same time the MLB logo released there was a picture of Killebrew in Sports Illustrated (or sporting news or whatever magazine it was) with Killebrew in almost the exact same pose.

paandy great stuff but in the section Cap Icons you're missing one of the best IMO 1919-1922 NY Giants from Indiana Jones

First off, that Expos cap looks nice. I'd have picked one up if they had the WS logo on the correct side. Or maybe they were just anticipating this year's postseason cap 'improvements'. lol It would have fit right if they'd made the flag as obnoxious as possible by making it bright white rather than tonal. And that info on the Altoona Curve was fascinating. I'm something of a transportation infrastructure geek so I love learning about stuff like that.

I also have to comment on the awesome jacket Hargrove is wearing in your '97 WS photo. The Indians should wear this look as a home alt and leave the navy top for the road only:

And what do you know, there's an old Marlins uni being worn during a World Series. Definitely seems like the kind of history an organization would want to erase from the public's memory. Not like they won that Series and then another one in the damned things.

Nice blog. There is a ton of information on it.

BTW, 2002 was the last year for the large face Wahoo. The small Wahoo didn't arrive until 2003, even though they added the silver to the uniforms in 2002.
